Tricia Doyle was born on Temptation Island in 1981. She lived a life of luxury on this beautiful, and then-unknown island, until she was voted off at the age of 17. Set adrift in a thatch raft, Tricia floated at sea for three years until picked up by a science vessel in search of giant squid and brought to the United States.

On the mainland, she found work at Sea World in Orlando where she starred in the dolphin show "Bottles, The Misunderstood Dolphin." Her character in the show, Sprinkles the sea otter, is still remembered to this day. "She just instinctively knew how to be a sea otter," remembers Sea World's show coordinator. "I have no idea if that's a good thing. Actually, I have no idea what that means at all.

With the performance experience under her belt, Tricia set off for New York City. After a wrong turn on I-480 coupled with some car trouble, however, she ended up in Newport, Kentucky. With six hours to kill while her car was being fixed, Tricia spied the new aquarium and decided to give it the tour. While there she was thrilled to see a marquee for a live theater version of Bottles, The Misunderstood Dolphin.

After the show, she approached the backup band and asked if they would like to form a full-time band. Upon realizing that she was, indeed, the famous Sparkles the Sea Otter, the band declined. After being treated to a free lunch at Skyline, the band reconsidered and formed a new full-time band: Sparkles and Otters (later renamed Patsy's deCline).
